Cold snap? Not for the Crows

IT was just typical that of all the teams to actually play at the weekend Crowborough Athletic, who only have a handful of games left this season, were one of them, writes Glenn Garrett.
While the rest of the area was still gripped in a cold snap, Dave Adams and his men travelled down to balmy Seaford for a Brighton Cup match.
They got the win as well, which sets them up nicely ahead of this weekend's clash at title chasers Three Bridges.
"It's amazing isn't it," Adams said. "We haven't got many games left, yet our game at the weekend somehow survived. Credit to Seaford and everyone there for actually getting the game on. They did brilliantly.
"To be honest, it wasn't too bad. The weather was great – four or five degrees, it felt like a summer day compared to what we've had in Crowborough.
"We were a bit rusty, but the game was a chance to dust a few cobwebs off and get 90 minutes under our belts and get ready for the tough run of games coming up over the next few weeks."
The cold snap has hardly made training easy, but the Crows have adapted well, using Beacon School's facilities. Adams hailed the attitude of his players in difficult times and hopes they can take that into tomorrow's game at high-flying Three Bridges.
"They've got a fantastic side and have been on a great run in the Vase. I'm sure they will be fully concentrating on the league now. They play the game the right way and it's not going to be easy. Last year we worked hard and nicked a 1-0 win – hopefully we can do the same."
He added: "We just need to consolidate our mid-table position. We haven't got an easy run-in but have identified games we want to try and win."
