Our neighbour decided to cut the grass outside his house, really the council responsibility, when he went in to turn on the power to the mower and came back he saw a flatbed lorry driving off with his mower on the back.

He reported the theft and the number of the vehicle was taken by a bystander who saw the incident.

This may have been a one off opportunistic theft but we should all be aware that this can happen and it is a good idea to have recorded the serial number of bicycles garden machinery etc. which could be stolen like this.
